Hectares Under ProtectionPlanet 5's flagship preservation vision spans 92,000 hectares across Nepal's mid-hills, connecting three national parks. Home to red pandas, Himalayan black bears, and 286 bird species, the landscape is fragmented by development. We are working alongside the farming communities, building coffee as the cash crop that makes preservation viable. This is where we are building toward.
The corridor begins with one partner. Nuwa Estate Coffee, founded by Tashi Wangchuk Tenzing, grandson of Tenzing Norgay, is the proof of practice. Through direct trade and exclusive US distribution, Planet 5 works alongside Tashi's proven model, positioning Nepal's harvest as the rare, high-altitude luxury it is. Stable wages reach highland communities. A coffee industry still finding its scale begins to take shape. Initial conversations with NTNC are underway. Nepal is where we start. It will not be where we end.
"Commerce should protect the places it celebrates. We didn't build a charity. We built a better kind of business."
