A single morning in 2007.
While Tashi summited Everest for the third time, his wife Bandi Nima Sherpa Tenzing stood on a terraced hillside in Nuwakot and saw something most visitors miss. Not just the beauty of the landscape, but the fragility of the community within it.
Together they founded Nuwa Estate to change that, reinvesting profits into local schools and health clinics. Today, more than 70,000 Arabica plants grow among avocado, banana, hazelnut, and Himalayan spice trees, tended by the same community they set out to protect.
